Our Jewellery Restringing Services
Restringing – Plain or Knotted
It’s important to check the condition of your row of pearls or beads, as the silk can wear, stretch or break over time. We work closely with a restringing expert, with prices starting from £30 for plain strung, or £50 for knotted. Knotted is when the stringer ties a small knot in between each bead or pearl, which stops the whole necklace becoming unthreaded, if a break was to occur. We can also help with semi-precious and precious gem restringing.
Alterations
If you’ve inherited some pearl or bead jewellery and would like to redesign or revamp it, we’re here to help. For previous clients, our stringer has done everything from adding or changing clasps to redesigning a multi-strand into a short, single row bracelet.
Not Just Pearls
We restring more than just pearls, over the years we have restrung many different types of necklaces including rows that have been favorites for years or ones just passed down with treasured sentimental value and it's not always pearls. We often restring other rows too, such as stone beads, coral, amber and precious stone beads such as emeralds, tanzanite and rubies. With over 60 years of family experience, there's not much our restringer hasn’t worked on
